Interim Caregiver Services & Grants-Subsidies Singapore

Aseana Caregivers also provide personal home care for individuals/ families who are discharged from the hospital that managed by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) , where this Interim Caregiver Services Scheme (Grants-Subsidies) started in 2013 by Ministry of Healthcare Singapore primarily aimed to assist patient well enough to discharged timely from the Acute and Community hospitals. The Grants and Subsidies will priorities Singapore Citizens & Permanent Residents. 


How ICS Works?

In Aseana Caregivers, the interim caregiver services are aimed at facilitating the discharge of clients from hospitals. Here is how the subsidies for Interim Caregiver Services (ICS) work, provided by the Authority:

  • A maximum of 12 shifts is allowed over a span of 2 weeks. The shifts are categorized as day shift (8am to 8pm), night-shift (8pm to 8 am), or a combination of both. To obtain approval for an extension to ICS-plus, permission must be granted by the Agency of Integrated (AIC).
  • The services can be delivered 6 days per week, and patients are only allowed to register for the services while they are still in the hospital or within five days after discharge.
  • Interim Caregiver Services (ICS) serve 24/7, including public holidays and Sundays, with a surcharge applied. 
  • For the Interim Caregiver Services (ICS) Grants-Subsidies, the maximum coverage will be 80% for Singaporean citizen and 50% for Permanent Residents who have been discharge from acute hospital and community hospitals.

Interim Caregiver Services (ICS+) - Long Term Care Services

If one needs further care and treatment after being discharged from an acute hospital, or needs supervision and assistance to manage daily life, they may be eligible for the intermediate and long-term care (ILTC) services.

Ministry of Health (MOH) Singapore recognises that the bills for ILTC services can be significant over longer periods of time. That’s why they provide subsidies to offset the bills of these people needing care. MOH uses a household means test to determine the amount of subsidy.

Do note that there are surcharge for Sunday & Public Holidays & Aseana Healthcare have provide special discount for 2 weeks & 4 weeks for un-subsidies Interim Caregiver Service - Long Term Care Services package.

 Home Caregiving Grant (HCG)

The Home Caregiving Grant (HCG) is a $200 monthly cash payout to support your loved ones with at least permanent moderate disability, i.e. always require some assistance to perform 3 or more Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
This grant can be used to defray the costs of Caregiving Expenses, such as the costs of Eldercare and Caregiver support services in the community or hiring of a Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW).

FOREIGN DOMESTIC WORKER (FDW) LEVY CONCESSION FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) Levy Concession for Persons with Disabilities lets families pay the foreign domestic worker levy at a concessionary rate of $60 a month, instead of $300. Each household is eligible for up to two FDW levy concessions, caring for two loved ones at any one time.

Seniors’ Mobility and Enabling Fund (SMF)

The Seniors' Mobility and Enabling Fund (SMF) provides holistic support for seniors to age in place within the community by extending subsidies to Singaporean seniors:

  • Requiring mobility and assistive devices for daily independent living and to remain ambulant in the community
  • Receiving government funded home care and care within the community, needing home healthcare items for their care
